SUZROCKS.ORG doesn’t technically exist.  Well, the domain name exists, but the so-called-non-profit that will be associated with it does not exist.

I am in the process (ie. the papers are sitting on a bookshelf somewhere waiting to be filled out) of starting a non-profit whose purpose will be to fund surgical trips to varying places throughout the third world. The main goal will be to help nurse anesthesia students, nurses who plan on entering CRNA school,  anesthesia residents, and surgical residents afford the expenses associated with traveling overseas and volunteering.

As you may know, most medical professionals incur a staggering amount of debt throughout their educational career and this in itself deters students/residents from participating in these trips.  My experience has been that if someone is exposed to something life-changing early on in their career, they are much more likely to return when their schooling/training is finished- the subsequent trips funded by themselves.

At this point, current Nurse Anesthesia students will have first dibs on funding.  This is because I am biased and also because I can do whatever I want since it’s my idea.
